Oklahoma School for the Blind Will Host Annual Spaghetti Dinner

MUSKOGEE – Spaghetti and meatballs will be at the top of the menu on Oct. 13 for a fundraising dinner that will benefit the Oklahoma School for the Blind.

The public is invited to attend from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the OSB campus in the new gym. The school is located at 3300 Gibson Street in Muskogee.

The Muskogee Masonic Lodge #28 A.F. & A.M. is hosting the annual fundraiser in partnership with OSB. All proceeds will go to benefit the school.

The cost is $10 for children and $15 for adults. Tickets can be pre-purchased at the school.

OSB’s award-winning Jazz Band and the school’s choir will entertain beginning at 5:30 p.m.

OSB staff have organized a basket silent auction and a dessert auction.

“We are incredibly grateful to our partner, Muskogee Lodge #28 A.F. & A.M., for helping make this event possible,” OSB Superintendent Brent Pearce said. “We also want to thank our dedicated staff for their hard work and support in making the auction a success. Most importantly, this is a special and fun night for our students, guests and our wonderful band and choir. We appreciate everyone who helps make this event memorable for our OSB family.”

OSB is a division of the Oklahoma Department of Rehabilitation Services.

The Oklahoma School for the Blind is the statewide resource for the education of students who are blind or visually impaired. Residential and commuter students meet or exceed all state-mandated education requirements. They receive specialized instruction in Braille, orientation and mobility, optimum use of low vision, adaptive equipment technology and tactile graphic skills not readily available at other public schools in the state. OSB also provides thousands of hours of free services each year for students attending other public schools, their families and their school staff.
